We did 9 dives over three days with Cezar, Manolo and the team. Cezar went above and beyond to accommodate us over these days, picking us up from the port, arranging a refresher session during the evening (before diving began the next day) and was generally on hand to help. Beyond that, the dive sites we were taken to were really special and the whole team were super knowledgeable, welcoming and put us at ease. We saw many sea turtles, nurse sharks, spotted eagle rays and followed a pod of dolphins that were incredible to swim with under water. Die zwei Sterne gibt es für den netten Herren im Office, der sich sehr viel Zeit genommen hat uns alles zu erklären, das richtige Equipment rauszusuchen und die Tauchgruppen Konstellation zu planen. Meine Freundin hat hier als frische Open water diver ihren ersten Meerestauchgang gemacht und auch den ersten Tauchgang vom Boot. Dabei wurden wir unserer Meinung nach nicht gut genug unterstützt. Zum einen dadurch, dass Cesar nicht sonderlich den Worten zugewandt war. Er erklärte uns nichts über das Riff, die zu sehenden Korallen und Fische, sondern beschränkte seine Kommunikation auf ein Mindestmaß. Getränke auf dem Boot wurden nicht angeboten, sodass wir uns irgendwann selbst bedienten. Der Höhepunkt war jedoch der zweite Tauchgang an dem Tag. Briefing wie beim ersten Tauchgang so gut wie nicht vorhanden. Lediglich eine Info über die Tauchtiefe und dass wir ca 60min durchhalten sollen. Es stellte sich heraus, dass Cesar mit uns in mittleren Strömungen tauchen wollte. Wir waren diesbezüglich beide sehr überrascht und vor allem überfordert. Nach 45min war unsere Luft alle. Anstatt gemeinsam aufzutauchen schoss uns Cesar eine Boje hoch an der wir aufsteigen sollten. Oben angekommen mussten wir feststellen, dass er unten die Spule losgelassen hatte und wir somit frei in der Karibik getrieben sind. Es begann sehr stark zu regnen und wir trieben ca 10min frei in der Karibik umher bevor uns das Boot fand und aufsammelte. Eine Erfahrung die ich nicht wiederholen möchte und auch keinem wünsche. You can see from so many longtime returning clients that this is a special place, highly trusted and a unique experience. It is the difference between tourism and travelling.
